my heart broke
He's supposed to get some sleep before his scheduled events tomorrow. That's why they're in this hotel, too, far away from the media recording center where the whole event had gone down.
Rest doesn't come easily when he's caught up in a combination of leftover anxiety and want. It's a childish, needy sort of desire, even He Ming is aware of that, but it's developed so quickly since Akihiro helped him—protected him—that he can't suppress it.
It's getting late. He Ming, lying on his back on the couch, sighs and puts down his phone. Trying to distract himself from Akihiro's presence isn't working. As blatantly forward as his plan is, he's going to put it into motion.
After sliding his phone into his back pocket, He Ming ambles across the room to where his bodyguard is sitting in another chair. Casually touchy as he usually is, the way he props one hand on the table in front of Akihiro and the other on the back of his chair, fencing him in, isn't so out of the ordinary.
"Akihiro..." Slowly he leans in closer, frown obvious on his face. "I'm bored."

He's on too high alert to notice notice his charge approaching, but it's not until he crowds into his personal space and speaks that Akihirio finally looks at him - though his expression is equal parts puzzled and wryly amused when he does. He Ming is... bored? And wants Akihiro to do something about it? Is he a babysitter now? He could probably get away with telling him no, but... well, Akihiro likes the kid (he should probably stop thinking of him as a kid when he isn't even ten years older than him, huh?) and he can appreciate that he might be in an odd place after the drama that went down recently. Besides, he prefers to be a decent human over a flawless professional; it'll probably help He Ming out if he just indulges him.
"Bored, huh?" He closes his newspaper and sets it aside. "Not sure you'll have much fun listening to me go on about baseball."

"We can talk about other things." He Ming bumps his shoulder companionably with his hip, which is certainly too close for him to be. He pulls back a moment later, however, and jerks his head at the couch he'd been lying on in front of the TV.
"Or you can come watch a movie with me."
In the back of his mind He Ming wonders if there's an adult channel on the TV. Not that he plans on doing that... yet. Just having the lights off will be good.

He Ming is usually pretty friendly - it's why Akihiro hadn't blinked at his casual closeness a moment ago - but that hip bump is just a little more... he isn't sure. A little more something. He can't say for sure that he's reading the situation correctly, however, so rather than worrying about being overly close he simply nods and rises to his feet.
Besides, if he's being entirely honest with himself he hopes he is reading He Ming correctly. That's probably not what's happening, however.
"Sure. Fancy places like this are supposed to have all sorts of options, right?" He crosses to the couch, but pauses before he drops down onto it. "I'm not supposed to drink on the job, but do you want something?" Mixing drinks isn't exactly in his job description, but they'd found roofies in the kidnappers supplies. He'd taken care to keep that information away from He Ming (though who knows about the rest of the security team), but it's still on his mind.

"Ah, sure. Nothing too strong. Something sweet." He doesn't want to actually get drunk and have that get in the way.
After Akihiro finishes mixing drinks, He Ming plops down beside him on the couch. He's careful with the drink to avoid spilling it and only takes a few sips before setting it down in favor of taking the remote and starting to flick through the on-demand movies available. After settling in with the remote again, he's close enough to Akihiro on the couch for their thighs to press together.
"Any preferences?" he asks. He leans towards him, head tipping onto his shoulder.

Wow, he's close. Akihiro can't help but feel a jolt of interest, especially when He Ming tips his head against his shoulder. Still, he makes himself stay in check. There's no need to push him too hard or too fast here. There's still a chance he's misreading it, after all, and still a chance this isn't coming from an entirely sincere place. So he doesn't shrug him off, but he doesn't quite reciprocate, either. Instead he shifts his arm to lay it across the back of the couch. It's an easy excuse for He Ming to move away or an easy excuse for him move closer.
"I like action movies." Which is probably the biggest cliche for a bodyguard, but he watches movies to be entertained, not cultured. "Sci-fi and slasher flicks are fun, too."

"Action movies..." He scrolls through the genres to reach the proper section. Akihiro's warmth pressed all along his side is distracting, to say the least, but he reminds himself that he can't slip that easily.
After a half-minute of searching he stops on a relatively recent blockbuster title. Lots of explosions, judging by the cover.
"How about this one?" Head almost resting against Akihiro's chest, He Ming tilts his head up to make eye contact.

... Damn, he's cute. Akihiro glances down at He Ming and offers him a crooked smile.
"Sounds good to me if it sounds good to you." What the hell. He may as well go with it, and with that in mind he lifts a hand to gently ruffle his fingers through He Ming's hair.

It doesn't exactly set the mood. There are definitely a lot of explosions and within the first ten minutes the protagonist has already killed someone and delivered a one-liner. It just makes He Ming laugh, though, easily entertained as he is, and he continues to lean against Akihiro. Eventually one arm comes up to encircle his waist so that he's definitely snuggled against his side in an intimate manner.

"Didn't think you were the sort of try for subtlety."
no subject
"I wasn't sure how you'd react if I started with heavy grinding." He moves, sitting up just enough to look Akihiro in the eye and smile at him again. "How did I do with the subtlety?"
